Summer Program Leader
About the role
Are you interested in playing an essential role in shaping Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) youth to be leaders for social justice? Program Leaders support the implementation and facilitation of our summer program for underserved high school students. Centered on AAPI identity and empowerment, our summer program equips high school students with leadership and advocacy training, knowledge of AAPI history, and college counseling, so they can lead in their communities and fight against social injustice.
No prior experience in teaching or facilitation is required. All Program Leaders will complete a comprehensive training before the program begins and will be supported by the entire team of volunteers and directors.
The program runs from July 22, 2019 to August 2, 2019 in San Francisco. Applicants must be able to attend all program dates.

What you’ll do:

Lead interactive workshops for 15-20 high school student participants

Assist with implementation and coordination of program activities

Support the personal growth and learning of a diverse group of emerging young leader
Who we’re looking for:

College student or recent graduate

Prior leadership experience

Interest in mentorship and working with youth

About AAMPLIFY
AAMPLIFY is an education and charitable non-profit that empowers underserved Asian Pacific American youth to become social justice leaders. Every year, we host a Social Justice Leadership Program for low-income high school students that aim to pursue careers in law, government, non-profit or social enterprise. Our program includes an intensive summer training and ongoing development with rotations in leadership, social justice and college/career planning. By helping these students recognize their leadership potential and ability to change the world, we give a voice to the needs of our community.
