Director of Community Development

Volunteering with AAMPLIFY is a unique and enriching opportunity to impact the Asian American community and help empower a new wave of leaders committed to justice. We are looking for passionate and qualified individuals to join our team of incredible volunteers. We are excited to get to know you.

About the role

As our Director of Community Development, you will be responsible for creating lasting partnerships with organizations that align with AAMPLIFY’s vision and mission. You will work with the Executive Team and Directors of Social Justice to promote AAMPLIFY to local community programs, schools and organizations. You will have the opportunity to build out the roots of AAMPLIFY within the AAPI community and make a lasting impact on AAPI advocacy. 

If you are a strategic thinker and experienced program leader with a passion for working with youth in an inclusive, diverse and complex environment, we’re looking for you!

This role is a one-year commitment of 10-15 hours per month. You must be based in the Bay Area - or able to commute to San Francisco as needed.

What you’ll do:

  • Attend community meetings on behalf of AAMPLIFY to hear community concerns, provide information about community engagement, and advocate for participation

  • Design and implement infrastructure to identify and recruit community partners for AAMPLIFY

  • Support a broader community effort to raise the visibility of the AAPI community


Who we’re looking for:

  • Experience identifying opportunities for programmatic innovation and community partnerships

  • Lover of human connection, AAPI advocacy, grassroots mobilization and communication

  • Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to work independently, lead multiple projects, prioritize and manage tasks, deadlines, requirements, and decisions

  • Passion for empowering underserved AAPI youth to become social justice leaders

  • Experience with and knowledge of Bay Area’s AAPI organizations is preferred​
