AAMPLIFY Internship

AAMPLIFY is seeking three student interns for our annual AAMPLIFY Internship Program. We are hiring 1 Social Media Intern and 2 Community & Social Justice Interns. 

Join the AAMPLIFY Internship Program for an extraordinary and rewarding experience, dedicated to empowering Asian American youth leaders and fostering personal leadership growth. We seek enthusiastic and driven individuals to become part of our remarkable volunteer team. 

​Internships are open to current high school and college students who are alumni of AAMPLIFY’s Social Justice Leadership summer program. We are excited to get to know you further!

The internship is a five-month commitment from July 3rd, 2023, through November 17th, 2023. While hours will vary and can be flexible, interns will generally be expected to work 6-10 hours per month and will receive a stipend of $800 at the end of the program. Interns will also participate in regular check-ins with the AAMPLIFY Internship Director, may attend AAMPLIFY Board of Director meetings, and are encouraged to participate in the Social Justice Leadership Program as facilitators and leaders. 

Please note that while all positions are remote, interns are strongly encouraged to attend the Social Justice Leadership Program’s graduation ceremony on August 13th in San Francisco, California. We are committed to making this program as accessible as possible.

Application Timeline

Social Media Internship

The Social Media Intern (1) will manage, curate, and create content for AAMPLIFY’s social media to engage with AAMPLIFY alumni, Bay Area students, and the broader community. The Social Media Intern will identify and implement creative uses of AAMPLIFY’s Instagram account to increase awareness of AAMPLIFY’s mission, promote the Social Justice Leadership Program and events, and connect with alumni and community members, including but not limited to creating original posts, reels, IGTV videos, and stories. The Social Media Intern will work under the supervision of the Internship Director.

If you are a creative self-starter who loves using social media to support social justice-driven missions and build community, this role is for you. Successful candidates will have experience or a strong desire to create engaging social media content and possess good communication and organizational skills.

​This role is a six-month commitment of 6-10 hours per month. Interns will receive a stipend of $800.

Community & Social Justice Internship

The Community & Social Justice Interns (2) will work closely with the Directors of Social Justice and Directors of Leadership to help run the Social Justice Leadership Program. Each intern will be responsible for planning and executing at least 2 events for the summer cohort, AAMPLIFY alumni, or the broader community. Community & Social Justice Interns should be passionate about community-building and excited about taking their experience with the Social Justice Leadership Program to the next level. In the past, interns have facilitated a documentary film screening, Jeopardy night, Q&A with a local Asian American elected official, and career/college panel event. Interns may also have the opportunity to facilitate portions of the summer program and are encouraged to pitch ideas and suggestions. 

If you are a self-starter, excited to work with a team, and a planner who loves creating opportunities to bring people together, this role is for you. Successful candidates will have strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

​This role is a six-month commitment of 6-10 hours per month. Interns will receive a stipend of $800.

  2. 1-2 paragraphs describing an event you would facilitate for the Social Justice Leadership Program and the steps you would take to organize it. The event may be social, educational, political, or anything else you might envision, and may also be in any format you’d like. 1-page maximum. Try to be as specific as possible!
